Dominic Noonan
Trainer
Dom is a native of Moorhead, MN, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from MSUM. He is a strength and conditioning specialist through NSCA and a NASM certified corrective exercise specialist. His training focuses on hockey and volleyball athletes as well as general youth training.
The inspiration for Max Training was developed alongside his brother, Ben, now a practicing orthopedic surgeon. Together they noticed the lack of specialized training and knew there had to be a better way to train youth athletes safely and successfully. Dom and Ben together launched Noonan Strength Systems, known today as Max Training.
The most inspiring part of Dom’s job is being able to see the impact he’s had on athletes years later. He takes on multiple roles while working with these athletes, sometimes being a dad, a friend, a disciplinarian, or just the funny guy. Dom defines success as having an internal feeling of accomplishment and going to bed feeling good about what one does and will do. He believes success is not only about financial gain but also about impacting someone’s life in a positive way.
Caring, accountable, and everybody’s friend are three things that best describe Dom. If he could talk to his 13-year-old self he would say: Be yourself and love yourself instead of trying to change yourself to have people like you–or it will be the wrong people who like you. High school is NOT that important. Surround yourself with the right people who truly care about you.
Outside of the gym, Dom is happiest when he’s with family or out fishing–from an icehouse or a boat.
